NEW Yamaha Grizzly 850?

Yamaha’s new 850cc class, parallel twin cylinder UTV engine could promise the possibility of a new Grizzly 850 ATV

There was a time when the thought of a 700cc ATV was mind blowing. Today, there are ride-on ATV models with displacement in the 1000cc range. In 2016 Yamaha released a totally redesigned Grizzly 700 resulting in an overall improved machine with new styling, improved handling, suspension, and ergonomics. The new 708cc engine enjoyed a 6% more power and 9% more torque than the 686cc engine it replaced. While its performance was mildly improved, based on your comments, there was definitely a group of enthusiasts out there wishing that Yamaha would produce a higher displacement, higher horsepower, twin-cylinder engine to challenge the twins from Polaris and Can-Am twins.

We think the extra power and rev-ability of Yamaha’s new 850 twin-cylinder used to power their new Wolverine X4 UTV could take the Grizzly 700’s fun factor to the next level. It could also be used to power an all new sport 4×4 ATV. Let us know if you’d like to see a new Grizzly 850 in the comments. We’re pretty sure Yamaha is paying attention.
