AMA ATV Motocross Championship Announces New Venue to Serve as Season Finale

AMA ATV Motocross Championship Announces New Venue
to Serve as Season Finale
Round 12 to Take Place at Edge of Summer MX at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 20, 2016) – MX Sports Pro Racing and the ATV Promoters Group (ATVPG) are pleased to announce the addition of an extra round to the AMA ATV Motocross (ATVMX) Pro Racing division. The Edge of Summer MX at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort (SECR) in Mount Pleasant, Michigan will serve as the season finale taking place Friday, September 9.

This special event was first held in 2014, but then catered to ATVs as a standalone race in 2015. Flordia’s Jeffery Rastrelli took home the top honors at the inaugural event, and will look to repeat his success against the entire ATVMX Pro field in September.

“We are very excited that the ATV Pro National will be added to the Edge of Summer MX & ATVMX race schedule this year. SECR has worked diligently through our RCH partnership to show the racing community our continued commitment to the sport,” said SECR’s Director of Marketing and Entertainment Raul Venegas. “Showcasing our property with an ATV Pro National is a perfect pairing for the continued success we have seen already with Edge of Summer MX.”

The alliance of the world’s fastest four-wheeled ATV and dirt bike racers has quickly allowed the Edge of Summer MX to gain the reputation of hosting some of the most electrifying racing all year. This will ring true when the pro ATV racers take on the venue’s entire motocross track Friday, before the professional dirt bike racers scheduled for Saturday.

Unlike any other ATV National, this event is different due to the driving forces behind it. This fun-filled weekend is produced by SECR, RCH Racing’s Ricky Carmichael, Carey Hart and Ken Roczen, along with famed track builder Randy Poulter and RedBud’s Tim and Amy Ritchie.

Similar to the FLY Racing ATV Supercross (ATVSX) held at Daytona International Speedway, there will be select amateur classes available. These non-points paying classes are offered for everyone including 50cc youth racers all the way to veteran riders.

“We couldn’t be more excited to see the progress of our continued partnerships coming together in creating this unique ATV Pro National,” said NFC Management‘s Justyn Amstutz. “The collaborative efforts of everyone have created an unsurpassed event that is great for the sport and the industry. It is an honor to work with the best in each of their spaces, which now includes an ATV Pro National.”

Spectator passes will be available for Friday and the entire weekend. More information will be released as it becomes available. To keep up with the latest news just click HERE.
