Can-Am Brings BIG Value 2015 with the NEW Outlander L 450 and 500

New 2015 Outlander L, 450 and 500 4×4 models offer value pricing and an astonishing 5 year warranty!

Within the last 48 hours, ATV on Demand became aware of Can-Am’s intentions to invade the heart of the ATV consumer market. Over the past few years, our intelligence has reported that Minnesota based Polaris, has set up a stronghold in the largest part of the ATV market, the mid-bore 4×4 class. Their Sportsman 400 and 500, and now the 570 represented what was best about this segment, offering the most ATV for the least amount of money.

Can-Am has always had a reputation as a leader in performance, and for a while offered all you needed to bring customers in the door of dealerships. Today, after decades of the displacement wars and ever increasing retail prices, consumers are looking for the type of machine that made ATVing so popular in the beginning, one that’s affordable, reliable, and fun. This has made Polaris a big winner with this type of buyer and we were waiting for another manufacturer to wake up and take notice, and Can-Am has.

The 2015 Outlander L models offer proven Can-Am design, value-packed pricing, and an astonishing 5 year warranty.

The Canadian based firm is the first manufacturer to fire a shot directly at the heart of Polaris’es ATV sales with a new line of machines they hope will appeal to the ATV buying masses. Can-Am’s recently declassified 2015 Outlander L 450 and 500 models start at $6,399 for the 450. That’s $400 less than the 2014 Outlander 400 and $100 less than the Honda Rancher 420. The new Outlander L 500 retails for $6,999, only $500 more than the 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570, and $350 less than the 2014 Honda Foreman 475 ES. The L 450 is claimed to produce over 11 horsepower more than the Rancher 420, and 8.5 horsepower more than the Sportsman 400. The Outlander L 500 is claimed to produce over 12 horsepower more than the Foreman 475 and 2.3 horsepower more than the Sportsman 570. It’s worth noting that the Outlander L 500 is the only one of the three with a v-twin engine, which costs more to produce, but may yield additional torque and throttle response benefits not represented by its claimed 46 horsepower. Both models are fuel injected.

The Outlander L models feature Can-Am’s generation 2, or G2 chassis with their surrounding spar technology. Dual a-arm front and Can-Am’s TTi rear suspension deliver 9 inches of travel up front and 8.8 inches out back, both ends offer competitive, if not class leading wheel travel.

The 450 and 500 will be available in a single or dual seat, aka “MAX Configuration”.

Passenger Oriented Features, MAX Only

It also includes a new lock with a latch to reduce vibration. The tall backrest is very supportive and also pivots to help reduce kick back to passenger during acceleration and climbs. Can-Am engineers also added regressive flex to the top and sides to enhance comfort levels. The seat is also angled and formed to provide better “groove,” more overall support and minimize passenger movement in off-road conditions.
