Cardo’s new Venture helmet combines a Leatt-based off-road helmet platform with built-in Cardo mesh communication, JBL audio, and rider-focused safety features.
Cardo Venture integrated mesh helmet is Cardo Systems’ latest off-road helmet, featuring built-in Dynamic Mesh Communication for seamless rider connectivity from the moment you put it on.
What Is the Cardo Venture Integrated Mesh Helmet?
The concept is simple: instead of buying a helmet and adding a separate external communication unit, Venture combines both into one complete package. Cardo says the Venture is the world’s first integrated mesh helmet for motocross and off-road riding, and it is aimed at riders using ATVs, dirt bikes, and side-by-sides.
The Venture is built around the Leatt Moto 8.5 helmet platform and adds Cardo’s integrated communication technology. Key features include Dynamic Mesh Communication, SOUND BY JBL audio, natural voice operation, IP67 waterproofing, music sharing, over-the-air software updates, and the ability to connect with other major Bluetooth intercom brands.
For group rides, testing, filming, or coaching, the appeal is obvious. Real-time rider-to-rider communication means less stopping, less yelling, and fewer hand signals. Cardo says the system can support up to 15 riders with a range of up to 1 mile, depending on conditions.
That part matters to us. ATV On Demand has used Cardo Packtalk Edge systems and related Cardo communication units on countless rides over the past several years. Rider-to-rider communication has made group rides more efficient, more fun, and safer. Being able to talk instantly with another rider changes the way a ride flows, whether you’re navigating trails, spotting obstacles, or just staying connected with your group.
We have not tested the Cardo Venture helmet yet, so this is not a review. But based on our experience with Cardo’s communication products, the idea of a fully integrated off-road helmet makes sense.
The helmet side of the package includes a composite shell, 4-density impact foam, ECE 22.06 and DOT certification, emergency release cheek pads, a double D-ring fastener, breakaway visor, neck brace compatibility, and 360° Turbine Technology designed to help reduce impact forces and rotational acceleration. Cardo also lists a Pro-Fit modular pad system, Ionic+ antimicrobial liner, ventilation channels, and an integrated hydration side port.
The value proposition is interesting. With a $799 MSRP, the Venture is not cheap. But when compared with buying a premium Leatt Moto 8.5-based helmet and a single Cardo Packtalk Edge system separately, the total package lands in the same general conversation, depending on current pricing and promotions. The upside is that Venture delivers the helmet and communication system in a cleaner, more seamless package without an external unit mounted to the side.
There is one practical concern worth mentioning. With a traditional helmet and separate Cardo unit, a rider may be able to remove the communication system and transfer it to another helmet after a crash or helmet replacement. With an integrated helmet, that process may be more complicated. Cardo states that the electronic components are removable, serviceable, and upgradable, but we would still want more clarity on what the replacement process looks like after a significant impact or crash.
Warranty coverage includes 5 years on the helmet, 3 years on the technology, 2 years on the battery in the EU, and 1 year on the battery in the rest of the world.
The Cardo Venture off-road helmet carries an MSRP of $799 and is expected to be available from retailers later this summer.
